Have you ever felt like everything that was or should be working in your business all of the sudden stopped working? Like you are doing all the right things, saying all the right things to prospects, taking care of your current clients and still, it’s like a door has closed…
As an entrepreneur, it can be easy to see that as a challenge and keep pushing. But, it’s also important to use wisdom and know when seasons have changed and it’s time to do a new thing.
In fact, I feel like I have been going through that most of this year. I knew at the beginning of the year it was going to be a year of change. And it has been. One thing I really noticed is how I had lost my passion for what I was doing. Not here at RuleYourRealm.com, but for my agency. I was just tired of the service based business model. Although, I have a great team, I was still feeling worn out. I first blamed it on different things that was going on in my personal life, then I blamed it on some weird health things I was dealing with. But when I really got serious, I realized it was time for a change… A change I was trying to avoid.
I learned a long time ago, it’s not smart to be married to your business. Watch Shark Tank sometime. The majority of offers people walk away from is due to they are blinded, because they are in love with what they started and would rather continue struggling, instead of partnering with a shark and being set for life.
Anyways, I have learned when it’s not fun anymore and you lack peace, it’s time to move on. So that is what I am doing. Seasons change and it is okay to move forward with those changes. There are major changes happening in many areas of life and a big one is what I am going to be focusing on in 2014. Rule Your Realm will continue and only get better. In fact, I haven’t even started the main stuff I have had planned. 🙂
My point in sharing this is not only to be transparent (because that is what we are supposed to be, right?), but it is to hopefully give you a friendly reminder that the new year is on it’s way and it’s time to examine our lives and businesses, start setting goals and… even let go of a few things. That is how you end up Ruling Your Realm in the marketplace.
So I ask you to join me in this journey of business and life, as you continue to take ground and Rule Your Realm, count the cost, know when to stop and know when to move forward. Think of it like this… Seasons changing is not a bad thing, it’s just like getting on an elevator to go to a higher floor full of new opportunities.
